Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his children, Julie Fearheiley and her husband John of Mount Carmel, Jana Williamson and her husband Tom of Mahomet, Jeff Jackson and Leah Hedge of Mount Carmel, and Joe Jackson and his wife Julie of Floresville, Texas; 14 grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Fawell, Emma Jackson, Dustin Stokes, Matthew Stokes, Cory (Candy) Richmond, Collin (Hanna) Richmond, Brooke (Jarin) Wilsey, Guy (Anna) Williamson, Grant Fearheiley, Emily Fearheiley, Hannah (Christian) Fearheiley, Victoria Kuzmich, Tracy (Clarissa) Kuzmich and Nate Jackson; 13 great-grandchildren; and Jazzy Jackson, his faithful dog companion.Fred is preceded in death by his parents, wife, an infant son and an infant daughter.Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8,  in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry St., Mount Carmel, Ill. Masonic services will begin at 7:30 p.m.The funeral service for Fred will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Short Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial service will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mount Carmel.Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Mount Carmel Masonic Lodge 259 or Wabash County Shelter Buddies. She was born April 15, 1935, in Knoxville, to the late Frank and Helen Cross. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Tipton and Leroy Cameron; brother, Bill Cross and a granddaughter, Kristi Tipton.  She was a member of Christ Family Church and a former member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church. She was retired from the time office at DuPont after 27 years of service. She was a member of the DuPont Retirees Club. Mrs. Grant was a graduate of Central High School.Survivors include her children, Don (Marlene) Tipton,  Lisa Tipton, and Darin (Teresa) Tipton; grandchildren, Lindsay (Cody) Clark, Lacey (John) Tozier, Ashton Tipton, Seth (Meghann) Tipton, Abigail Tipton, Brittany (Bubba) Haney; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Butch (Diane) Cross, and Mickey (Carol) Cross; sister, Jan Woodall.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Smith and Brother Calvin Nunley officiating.
